Mohammad Amir appeared on Pakistan media after the news that a 4-member committee have been set up to review Amir's ban. These are some of the statements Amir made.
“I don't want to comment on Salman Butt's apology.”
“I am not going to blame anybody today. I have already admitted my mistake.”
“I hope that no youngster gets trapped like me ever in his life.”
“I have learned a lot in my life and I am much more mature now.”
“I am keeping good company these days.”
“I thank Najam Sethi for showing interest in my case.”
“The 4-member committee formed for my sake is good news and a good initiative.”
“I am still willing to represent Pakistan.”
“I am training these days and will get into rhythm once I am allowed to play any cricket.”
There is an overall feeling that the ICC are very pleased with Mohammad Amir in the sense that he admitted his guilt very early, he told the true story in front of the media, and he has even taken part in anti-corruption sessions with the ICC. There is a reasonable chance that he will have his ban reduced slightly, in a similar way that a criminal has his jail term reduced for good behaviour.
